I have to agree with most of the people saying that the darkness within 1 is the best. 1 really had a scary vibe to it but DW2 wasn't scary,dark,mysterious at all. I liked the game environment though. It's a 'meh' game. Worth a try though if you played the first one. :/ but I still give this game a thumbs up because there aren't much good games like this out there.. I would love to recommend this game but I found it just too hard. I am an adventure game player but the puzzles in this game and the previous are very difficult. One of the most difficult things was underlining the documents, because if you don't underline everything possible you really don't get the whole story. Then, after using a walkthrough to get a little over halfway I got stuck and have never finished it. I have had this game in my library for quite some time and have never finished it because I have to depend on a walkthough to progress after like the first chapter or two. It just wasn't worth it to me. I really wanted to finish the story but just going through the motions I lost all Immersion in the story and ended up bored with it. I know I'm in the minority here, but that's how I feel. This game also requires pretty good specs on your machine. I started on my old Win7 with integrated graphics and even though it met minimum specs I was just about unplayable. I now have a gaming computer, albeit an old one... 4 years old, it runs it just fine. I have dedicated graphics with 2 GB of memory, 12 GB of Ram and my processor runs with 3.5 GHz. If you are up for a challenge I would suggest at least 1 GB of dedicated graphics memory and a hefty processor. OK, well, just because I didn't recommend it doesn't mean it's unplayable or bad. It's not. If you are up for a challenge and have the equipment by all means go for it. But if you get too frustrated and feel stupid because you can't figure out very difficult puzzles or don't have the patience to underline everything and combine everything I would pass. There are people out there this may be a snap for but I am not one of them.. A decent game but I kept glitching and clipping out of the play area, so I decided to skip this which is a shame because the mechanics and atmosphere were decent for the games age. it's fun game i like horror game with story without jumpscares in these days lot of indie games they got horror game with jumpscare's with no reasson and simple story but this game is fun story and puzzle . the problem of the animation and graphic only.. horror psychological adventure game. good atmospheric sounds and music. good story good graphics though not the best there is. characters low detail. quite scary. would recommend highly wish there was a 3rd game. Despite the fact that the game is a bit buggy (you will sometimes fall through wall textures for example), this 2nd episode is a great experience. I highly recommend both of these games with lot of mysteries and interesting secret achievements. I finished it twice for the 100%, I don't regret it.. Very Lovecraftian, a lot of fun and very creepy.. A worthy successor to the first game, though not as persistently creepy. The change to a 3D engine was unnecessary IMHO - the point and click of the first game worked just fine.
